Assessment costs

A full assessment conducted on my own premises costs £450.00 and includes one copy of the written report.  You should note that whilst it is possible to conduct an assessment outside my own premises I strongly advise against this.    All the equipment and materials used for the assessment has to be moved but more importantly both space and quiet is essential for reliable results.  This will incur considerable extra time and thus additional cost.

The assessment report is a legal document.  This means that you are able to use it to support applications for teaching help, exam support, grants and statementing.  This is your child's report and you may take this to another OT for ongoing treatment if you choose.

Treatment or consultancy costs

Fees are for one hour sessions, which is as much as a child will handle and cost  £70.00 during normal working hours, 09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday, and £80.00 outside these times.  Where that treatment takes place at the child's school I charge for time spent at your child's school or with a consultant, doctor, teacher or other professional practitioner.  Ongoing treatment will be discussed with you once recommendations have been made however I usually suggest six one hour sessions that is frequently sufficient to initiate improvements.  Time spent on behalf of the child in support of statementing, grant applications or any other activity requiring my professional services will be charged at the hourly rate.

One of the benefits I can offer is that I am able to continue working with your child and you so long as we both feel the child is benefiting.  This may be intensive support over a short time or occasional over many years.

Other costs

I charge for travel costs at AA/RAC rates or second class rail as appropriate.  I also charge travel time, at the pro rata hourly rate, for meetings at the child's school or other with other individuals or bodies.

Private Health Cover

I am registered with BUPA, WPA, MEDISURE and the NHS for treatment and you should be able to recover your costs.  If you are with another provider you should be covered but they normally wish to check each time.  In all cases follow the procedure provided by your PHI provider.

Invoicing

Invoices are payable on presentation.  The contract is between Chrissy Fraser and the parent or legal guardian of the child.   Where fees are being paid through Private Health Insurance, the LEA or another third party the provider will normally pay me direct however the parent or guardian remains legally liable for payment.  It is the responsibility of the parents or legal guardians to ensure payment is made promptly whether by themselves or a third party.

It is a condition of treatment that the parent or legal guardian signs a document to allow me to assess and treat their child, to hold details under the Data Protection Act, and to share that information with other's involved in the child's treatment.
